President
Steve Muth
Steve Muth 2021 Election
I would be once again honored if you elected me to lead SCU’s Executive Committee for 2022. If elected, this would be my ninth year on the Executive Committee and my seventh as President (and last as set forth in our Bylaws). In my sixteen years as a member, it’s been my experience that every ride is a chance to learn something new about cycling, and every social event is a chance to understand it from different perspectives.

Our club has changed over the years, especially so during the last two years of the pandemic. The Executive Committee and I will work to continue the traditions that have made SCU great while shaping them to meet the evolving needs of the membership.

Treasurer
David Kaplan

I am currently Treasurer of Suburban Cyclists Unlimited. My current employment is with Voynow, Bayard, Whyte and Company, LLP (VBW), in which I specialized in the area of accounting and auditing in commercial and residential real estate, construction activities and employee benefit plans.  In addition,  My primary responsibilities included performing and supervising audit, review, compilation and tax engagements.

In the field of taxation, I am proficient in advising clients on partnership taxation matter which included special allocations and real estate taxation. Also I am involved with training and continuing education for VBW, working with professionals throughout the firm to develop a firm-wide learning culture.

I have more than 30 years of experience in public accounting and joined VBW in 1986. Prior to joining VBW, I worked at two other accounting firms in the Philadelphia Area in which large amount of my time was for pension and health care plan audits and individual tax preparation.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science (now known as Thomas Jefferson University – East Falls Campus) and graduate 1983. Also passed the Certified Public Accountant examination during 1983 and I have been a license Certified Public Accountant since 1985 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I am current member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountant and American Institute of Certified Public Accountant. I graduate from Springfield Township High School in lower Montgomery County.

I am been marry since 1991 to my Wife Beatrice and we have two kids (Benjamin and Leah).  Currently I am membership in the Suburban Cyclists Unlimited  Bike club. Also I am member of the Bike Club of Philadelphia and Central Bucks Bicycle Club. I have been involved in group riding for the last six years.  I bike ride currently approximately 4,000 to 5,000 miles per year.

Ride Leader Director
Curtis Schwartz

My name is Curtis Schwartz and I am running again for the Ride Coordinator position for 2022.

I have been a frequent ride leader and volunteer for many years and ride lots of miles.  The reason I am running is to make it easy for our fantastic ride leaders and members to lead and participate in cycling through the club’s many group rides and activities and to have fun while doing it.

IT Director
Scott Seigfreid
Scott Seigfreid

My name is Scott Siegfried, and I am submitting my name for consideration to serve on the Executive Committee as IT Director for 2022.

I have been a member of SCU since 2016 and I have served on the Executive Committee for the past 3 years.  In addition to serving on the Executive Committee, I have very much enjoyed being an active cyclist with the club.    As many of you know, cycling has become an extremely important part of my life since joining the club.  The friends that I have made, and the health benefits that I have seen from riding with the club are truly a blessing.

For the past two years I have enjoyed serving on the EC as the IT Director for the club.  Over the past year I have performed general system maintenance and updates for the three sites (ClubExpress, Facebook, Meetup) that are run by the club.  I have also kept the EC informed of upgrades to each of the three platforms as they have been released by our vendors to ensure that we are making the best use of the resources at our disposal.

While serving on the board this past year, I have continued to lead and sweep many rides at the various ride sites and special events.  I have also served as a co-coordinator for the COS and Flourtown riding sites.

Given that I have roughly 32 years of experience as an IT professional, plus my “on the job” experience for the past two years, I feel that I am well suited to continue to facilitate the technology needs for the club for the coming year.

If you choose to elect me to this position, it will be my pleasure to once again work on your behalf.

-Scott

Social Director
Marc Katz
Marc Katz

I am submitting my name and bio for consideration by the members at large for the SCU Secretary, Executive Board Position.

I am interested in returning to the Executive Board as Secretary of Suburban Cyclist Unlimited for the 2022 election term. My goal is to update the brand and the effectiveness of SCU's information to our current membership as well as our guest riders with expanded ideas that will not only bring our bike community together but will encourage and recruit new clubs’ members with up to date elements for our club events, activities and notifications on and off our bikes.

I have been a member of SCU for the past nine years, and in that time, I have held multiple positions, such as Communications Director, Membership Director and Social Director. Additionally, I’m a ride leader, I’ve orchestrated and chaired the design of our 2013 and 2015 jerseys, I have served as a committee member on both the Quad Century as well as the SCU Awards Banquet.  I was also awarded SCU Member of the Year in 2015.

I have made some wonderful friends whom have already committed to assisting me with this position and its challenges.

With the combination of organizational skills as well as my endless quest for keeping updated in the marketing and promotions world, I'm hoping to expand SCU's reach and effectiveness to include a variety of new ways to keep our club information organized and working throughout the year.

I'm looking forward to serving on the Executive board with the intention of having our members strengthen their friendships through my  endeavors.  Come out and vote in November and  VOTE YES….Marc Katz, Secretary !

Membership Director
Robin Einhorn

Ten years ago I got back into riding after a long hiatus during which I raised my family. My friends and I somehow ended up biking on the SRT every weekend.  After commenting to one of them that I was bored to tears, someone suggested that we check out a local bike club. And the rest is history.  I joined SCU simply to meet fellow cyclists to ride with but ended up embracing a wonderful community.  I have served on our EC for 4 ½ years as our Social Director, and now I am looking forward to filling the position of Membership Director.

One of the most important responsibilities in fulfilling this role is coordinating our tailgate parties at our various ride locations, and I intend to shake things up a bit! I would also welcome comments and suggestions from our club members on ways we can increase our membership over the next year.  I also look forward to working with our incoming EC who are all committed to continuing to make SCU one of the premier bike clubs in the region.
