Here are some tips for making full use of the SCU web site and e-list:
-
The number on the first line of your newsletter mailing label is your member ID. Use your member ID and password to log in to the SCU website. If you don't know your password, send an e-mail to
webmaster@suburbancyclists.org.
- Use the "Update Member Profile" page to update your profile, if necessary. From this page you can change your mailing address, phone number, e-mail address, password, etc.
- Once you log in, you can indicate which rides and events you plan to attend. Click in the "Reg" column on the far right side of the table to register for an event. This helps the leader plan for the ride and know who to contact if conditions change at the last minute. This option exists only for one-time rides, not regular weekly rides.
- Instead of just sending ad hoc ride notices to the e-list, also enter your rides on the
"Add a Ride/Event" page. The rides will appear on the
SCU Rides web page. More members see your ride this way, since not all club members are subscribed to the e-list, but almost everyone can access the web page.
- From the "Event Details" web page, the ride leader can print a customized Ride Sheet with the name and date already filled in.
- Updating your SCU profile does not change your subscription to the SCU e-list.
To change your e-mail address for the e-list, update your profile on Yahoo
Groups.
- See the E-List web page for more information on
the E-list.
- Members can opt out of receiving the paper newsletter. There is no reduction in dues, but you will conserve paper and reduce the club's expenses for postage. You will still be able to download or read the PDF version of the newsletter on the SCU website. E-mail your request to
the webmaster or secretary.
